Detox for better brighter skin



The new year is here! We feel the excitement and look forward to all the opportunities to explore, to learn, to grow and to make improvements to our lives, health and skincare routine.

But first it is time to declutter and undo the damage of the overindulgence of the holiday season wih a few simple steps

1:
UP YOUR WATER INTAKE

Too much sugary treats, fatty foods and alcohol has probably left your skin screaming for water.
So dust of that beautiful water jug your aunt gave you for your 21st birthday and make your own luxury spa water by adding slices of lemon, cucumber and mint leaves.
A delicious and refreshing way to detoxify and get your skin glowing.
Prefer a hot drink? Why not boil some water and steep a DETOX TEA BAG in hot water for five minutes.

2: 
APPLY A SKIN CALMING 
MOISTURIZER

With your hydration levels back to normal it is time to add some serious moisture to the skin. Most post holiday skin feels itchy, and might show little patches of skin irritation that can easily grow into blemishes (a serious 'no go' especially for darker skin) so we recommend a MOISTURIZER rich in vitamines and filled with skin calming and soothing ingredients like aloe, oats, oil and amazonian oil which has anti-inflammatory and anti bacterial properties.

3:
EXFOLIATE TO SHOW YOUR REAL SKIN

With your holiday season filled with parties and dinners there was some serious fun to be had with your party make up. All that make up might have sent your pores in overdrive and screaming for air resulting in grey/ashy skin which prevents olive and darker skin from reflecting its gorgeous natural glow. So commit to introducing an exfoliation schedule to your skin care routine. The main rule here is to build up your routine by exfoliating every other day and be consistent and avoid anything that is too harsh on the skin; so no crazy power charged super sonic brushes or scrubs containing large rough grains. Opt for gentle tools like a NATURAL FACIAL PUFF  or a finely milled DAILY EXFOLIATOR WITH PINEAPPLE POWDER . 

4:
INCLUDE YOUR BODY IN YOUR CARE ROUTINE

You might not expose much skin if you live in a cold weather climate but the overindulgence during the holiday season also shows on your body. Spots on your back, darkened pores on your legs that seem to look worse and less elastic skin are the tell all signs. If you can face it wake up five minutes earlier every morning to give your body a work out with some serious DETOXIFYING DRY BRUSHING before you shower. Gently start at the bottom, working up via the legs to the chest and back area. Keep it up and expose a smooth, blemish free body when it is finally(!) spring/summer

5:
SLEEP

Empty the diary, pause liking those youtube videos about dancing cats and taking selfies and use those extra hours to catch up on some SLEEP
