CHIC FACES OF FALL

The nights are drawing in and as the temperature drops fashion goes richer, darker, more sophisticated and beauty follows suit. Match the seasonal opulence as seen on the international runways with elegant matte skin and a beautiful intense colour palette of plums, burgundies and cool dark greys.

The classic lip (as seen at Dolce and Gabanna)

Go for deep classic rich shades on the lips as seen at Dolce & Gabanna combined with matte skin.
Up the glamour stakes by adding a subtle feline flick to the eyes.
Flawless skin is a must for this look so we recommend priming the skin with an oil controlling primer
to achieve a
perfect smooth base for applying foundation
(try Face Atelier Ultra Foundation for a real airbrushed effect).

To keep the focus on the lips and eyes avoid using a blush that is too powerful.
Instead bring depth to the face and enhance the bone structure
by creating a shadow effect in the hollow of
the cheekbones. Avoid shimmer and glitter and opt for
taupe or brown shades, a shade or two darker then your skin tone to
achieve the most understated, natural effect.
With contouring the power really lies in the technique so we recommend
using a quality brush to really blend harsh shadows and lines.

The cherry on top with this look (apart from the amazing earrings..) is the centred around the lips.
Make sure they are in excellent condition, moist and primed with no chaps or dry flaky bits,
try Kevyn Aucoin's excellent Sensual Lip Balm. Colour wise we recommend deep, rich shades that complement darker skin tones, try the Expert Lip in deep blood red or a deep plum brown.

Be inspired by the elegantly sculpted brow (as seen at Givenchy)

Brows have been a focus for a few seasons now and the trend is set to continue deep into autumn/winter.
And for a good reason as it is the perfect trick to really pull the face together. It is tempting to go to dark and overpowering with darker skin tones,
but resist the temptation. The look is more about contemporary cool than
nineties glamour puss, so go for a softer shade of brown
to achieve that natural, fresh look
